If I have registered for a lunch and I am unable to attend, may I get a refund?
GHSHRM is unable to refund a luncheon registration fee unless notified more than 24 hours in advance of the luncheon date. You may substitute someone from your office if you are unable to attend a luncheon. Your refund will reflect the fee charged by PayPal.
When and where is the next GHSHRM Annual Education Day?
Information about each year's Education Day can be found on our website under "Meetings." Our Education Day is always held on the first Friday of March.
What are the benefits of membership in the Greater Houston Society for Healthcare Risk Management(GHSHRM)?
GHSHRM provides educational presentations specifically tailored to healthcare risk management professionals at luncheons, the Summer Soiree, Fall Forum, and the annual Education Day Conference.
GHSHRM provides updates on new healthcare related regulations and legislation.
GHSHRM provides many opportunities to network with others involved in healthcare risk management.
GHSHRM provides a medium for the exchange of ideas and information relative to healthcare risk management issues.
What are the cost and the term of membership?
Beginning January 1, 2025, annual membership dues will be $100.00. Membership dues will be required to be paid on January 1 of each year and your membership will expire on December 31 of that year.
Who is eligible for GHSHRM membership?
Individuals eligible for membership are those who have primary responsibility for or interest in, or actively participate on behalf of the provider in, healthcare risk management. Because of the defense-oriented nature of GHSHRM, attorneys and other individuals involved in the representation of and/or advocacy for plaintiffs in medical malpractice litigation are not eligible for membership. Determination of eligibility is made by the GHSHRM Board in its discretion on a case-by-case basis.
Does GHSHRM have a membership directory?
Yes, GHSHRM maintains an online directory that may be accessed by members only.

What healthcare risk management disciplines are represented in GHSHRM?
GHSHRM members have a broad array of experience, education and backgrounds. Included in the membership are attorneys, insurance brokers, financial planners, risk managers, claims managers, loss prevention and risk reduction managers, quality managers, paralegals, legal nurse specialists and risk consultants.
How do I obtain a Certificate of Completion after I attend a luncheon or Education Day?
Complete the Evaluation Survey sent by Terri Goodman or posted at www.terrigoodman.com after each event. Your Certificate of Completion will be generated when you have completed the survey.
Does GHSHRM accept advertising?
GHSHRM does not accept advertising. GHSHRM is unable to advertise, endorse, promote or email its members about products, meetings, conference and the like. GHSHRM is not able to include notices regarding such events on its website. Further, GHSHRM does not make its membership list available to anyone who is not a GHSHRM member. GHSHRM does however encourage sponsorship in conjunction with the annual Education Day. Various levels of sponsorships are available and the Education Committee should be contacted directly for more information.
